I finally began this rug yesterday! I had laid aside some wool color choices earlier, and began deciding where they should go on the rug... This can be a very anxious part of the rug for me - deciding what colors and where they go... I am working at being peaceful... so far, buttery ivory for background (too bright?) there are 3 groups of flowers each has one flower with a cool pink outline and the rest a kidney bean red outline... I am planning on blue-green leaves... Rain, my youngest daughter did a line of the background color, you can see a bit in the lower left corner of the photo.... more shots coming as it progresses...

Brenda those colors are wonderful!! You have a marvelous gift of an eye for color!
Can't wait for more pics!
Hugs!

Hi Brenda- I like the colors, especially the "kidney bean red" idea. I think you might have to dirty up the background a bit, though. I enjoy your blog very much! Have a good, and peaceful day- Kristan

Hi.. I have been a fan and follower of you and your family's work for some time now. I recently came across the video of you all and your caravan. Amazing. You are living a life I suppose I didn't have the courage to. Brava!
Your recent paintings on Flickr are wonderful. They remind me much of my father's paintings. I'm inspired to take a break from the figurative and re-seek solace in color and shape. Wishing you all the best - tho it appears as tho you already have it.

I love all the shades of rose and pink in your flowers. It reminds me of the rug I'm working on too! It's great to focus on flowers during the cold of winter!
Hugs,
Courtney

Thanks everyone! - Cathy you are so encouraging! Kristan, I just may be getting the dye pots out for that background :) Melissa, you are a very creative person -- thanks for taking the time to comment! And Courtney -- flowers are always fun to hook in my opinion -- but especially in winter!
