Well -- I have been hooking! This is not even the newest rug. We have been going through some cabin fever around here and on top of that our only computer burned out it's logic board. So even though we have a borrowed lap top it has been hard to do my computer stuff... I hate giving excuses, it feels lame, but what can I say?
This rug is made entirely of "worms" that is-- the left over cut strips from other rugs. It is the first time I have actually done this. It feels great! Always before I would start a rug determined to use only my leftover strips but always gave in to cutting a piece of wool to get the right color.... It doesn't seem to have put a dent in my "worm" pile though! :)
Yesterday I went to a monthly gathering of rughookers. I was the youngest there, (maybe not by much :)!!) which doesn't happen often in my life these days...Everyone besides me was an empty-nester and some had been so for 20 years or more. It was good to be in the company of women-- we all face challenges and do our best to keep on keepin' on..... and then we can laugh together, and talk about news headlines, movies, family and of course rughooking! nobody knows rughooking like another rughooker! That is what makes such a strong quick connection the love of rughooking!
